Lenzerheide reinvents night sledging
Lenzerheide reinvents night sledging and stages a multi-sensory sledging challenge
The LIGHT RIDE is a new kind of sledging experience for young and old that combines multi-sensory light installations with a sledging challenge. Behind the new offer are the creators of the Lenzerheide Magic Forest, who have been working on an idea for a combination of light art, games and sledging for some time.
Whoever collects the most points will be crowned «Light Rider»
Measure your dexterity, break speed records and get up to speed in the light tunnel - the new LIGHT RIDE in Lenzerheide offers all this and much more. The LIGHT RIDE is located on the Scharmoin-Canols sledge run and can be reached via the Rothorn 1 gondola lift. It is the first interactive sledge run in the world.
A kind of «Mario Kart on a sledge»
The LIGHT RIDE combines modern tracking and light technology with a gameplay that is otherwise more familiar from the world of computer games. At a total of eight stations, the rider collects virtual objects, knocks obstacles out of the way, sets speed records and thus achieves as many time credits as possible for the final tally at the finish line.
Starting this winter
The LIGHT RIDE will be open every Wednesday and Saturday between 6.30 and 10.00 pm. It is expected to run from 16 January 2021 to 10 April 2021. The CHF 29.00 (adult) sledging ticket required for this includes the hire of the transponder, which collects and evaluates the data from the Sledging Challenge. Annual pass holders can rent the transponder separately.
