Fourth Kids Cup season ends successfully

Old News

A total of over 332 children were able to compete on three different weekends.
Saturday served as a training day, while the races in the five different categories took place on Sunday.
The Bike Kingdom Kids Cup is a downhill racing series specially organised for children aged 6 to 16. Three races took place throughout the summer - participants competed twice in the Bike Kingdom Park in Lenzerheide and once in the Alpenbikepark Chur. The series has a special appeal for youngsters in the U15 and U17 categories. They are allowed to race on the original World Cup course.

High level of participants
«The level of the children is already extremely high,» says Kim Osinga, Head Office of the Lenzerheide Bike Events Association. Fortunately, there were no serious accidents or incidents despite the sometimes inclement weather. The race series has enjoyed great popularity since its launch four years ago. The two races in Lenzerheide on 16 June and 29 September 2024 were fully booked with 300 children and young people taking part in each. The race in Chur, which was held on 18 August 2024, also recorded a high number of participants. Around two thirds of all riders took part in all three races - the overall results of the series were analysed and announced on the final race day.

Bike Kingdom Academy
As part of the Kids Cup, two children per season are selected for the Bike Kingdom Academy. They benefit from professional coaching and receive material support from brands such as Giro, Evoc and Pirelli tyres.  The two coaches, Carina Capellari and Basil Weber, are former Downhill World Cup athletes and both multiple Swiss champions. Lenzerheide Bergbahnen AG sponsors the season tickets for the Bike Kingdom.
