The Federal Council will not allow any major events with more than 1000 people until at least the end of August 2020, a measure to combat the COVID 19 pandemic announced at the press conference on 29 April 2020, which also affects the organisers of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide. What was feared in the last days and weeks is now reality: The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide will not be able to take place as planned from 14 to 16 August 2020. "For us, the safety and well-being of our visitors, athletes, helpers and partners have top priority, especially in times of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. This includes following the instructions and recommendations of the government and health authorities," says Christoph Müller, OC President of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide. However, we still don't want to cancel the event completely and are therefore looking intensively for solutions.

Postponement also possible without spectators
"Together with the UCI, our partners and the authorities, we are working tirelessly to find a solution for a possible postponement of the event until autumn 2020," says Müller. All options, including a race without spectators but with TV coverage, are being examined with regard to their technical and financial implementation. A final decision on the implementation will depend on the Federal Council's decision announced at the end of May regarding the restrictions on sporting events from September 1, 2020. The organizers hope to have clarity about the further procedure by then at the latest.

Purchased tickets are not lost
