The first UCI Mountain Bike World Cup 2020 is expected to take place in Lenzerheide from 4 to 6 September 2020
The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide has been known for years as the guarantor of the atmosphere in the mountain bike sport. As a result of the COVID 19 pandemic, the planned World Cup cycle for mountain bikers has been more than disrupted and a new start to the World Cup season is planned for September 2020. The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide will be the kick-off.
Lenzerheide will now have a Downhill World Cup after all
Originally, no Downhill World Cup would have been planned in Lenzerheide this year, as this was not possible due to the international race calendar. With the restart of the World Cup season, Lenzerheide now has another downhill race in addition to the cross-country and short-track races already planned.
If the federal measures to combat the COVID 19 pandemic allow, the event will now take place from 4 to 6 September 2020. The planned first edition of the UCI Trials World Cup in Lenzerheide will be cancelled.
Save the date: 4 to 6 September 2020
The implementation of the event is still dependent on the decisions of the Federal Council and the cantonal authorities. The organisers are hoping for the details announced at the end of May 2020 regarding a relaxation of the ban on events from September 2020. Planning will continue on the basis of this forthcoming information and guidelines. We will not be able to provide further information on the resumption of advance ticket sales and possible restrictions for spectators until the beginning of June 2020.
